Habitat destruction is the number one threat why animals are becoming extinct. Habitat destruction is a process where the natural habitat has been destroyed, and replaced. Habitat destruction is caused by humans, when they destroy the environment, people then use the land for farms, houses, factories, mines, roads, power lines and water pipes. The land also maybe cleared for the use of palm trees, for example palm oil plantations. Habitat Destruction is now becoming a widespread problem in the world.
Agricultural activitys has led to the destruction of natural habitats, these habitats may include forests, grasslands and wetlands, everywhere in the world. The natural habitats are being reduced, because of the expansion and development of urban areas, roads and factories. This reduce in natural habitat has caused the decline in animals, so many of the endangered animals, and critically endangered animals are endangered due to habitat destruction.
The cons of habitat destruction:
1. Destroys the habitats of many animals.
2. Less trees, means less oxygen and more carbon dioxide. This contributes to globel warming.
3. Certain trees will become endangered in the future, if habitat destuction is not stopped soon.
In conclusion habitat destruction is the main reason why many animals are endangered, and on the brink to extinction.
